Twenty Two Billion Generated by Tribal Casinos

American Indian tribes had generated nearly twenty two billion dollars from the tribal government casinos. The latest figure is a 15.6% increase over the nineteen billion dollars taken in during 2004.

The latest figures came from the leading consulting firm, Analysis Group Inc.

The analysis report shows that four hundred twenty casinos operate in thirty states.

The hotels and other gambling revenues had amounted more than two billion dollars. With a seventeen percent increase over the more than one billion in non gambling earnings in 2004.

The tribal groups disputed the figures, but the result of the survey is similar to the figures of National Indian Gaming Commission.

National Indian Gaming Commission is a federal agency that audits tribal casinos.

According to National Indian Gaming Commission, tribal casinos have earned more than nineteen billion dollars in 2004 alone.

The analysis shows that three hundred thousand people were employed and the Indian casinos have paid more than ten billion to casino employees.

Among the twelve states with Indian tribal casinos, only four casinos had a decrease. Louisiana, South Carolina, Maine and South Carolina had a decline in revenues since 2004.

The five states with highest revenues are Minnesota, Oklahoma, Arizona, Connecticut and California.
